What do people call the product?

The convenient kits are called by a variety of names, including:

  • Bolt Packs

  • Gasket Kits

  • Bolt & Gasket Sets

  • Flange Packs

  • Bolt, Nut & Gasket Kits

Where are they used?

Any time two pipe Flanges are joined – regardless of whether they're stand alone flanges, or flanged connections on valves, strainers, control valves, backflow preventers, etc.

What are the contents of a BNG Kit?

Each kit includes one (1) gasket, plus a specific number of bolts and nuts that corresponds with the number of bolt holes in a particular size and pressure class of the ANSI flange in question.

How does Quickpak®'s packaging differ from some other Bolt, Nut & Gasket producers?

All bolts included in QUICKPAK®  kits are furnished in sealed poly bags. The same is true with nuts in our kits. This ensures that bolts & nuts DO NOT come in direct contact with gaskets during shipping and handling. Additionally, QUICKPAK®  uses Zinc Plated bolts and nuts, which are oil free and considered QUICKPAK®'s factory standard. Many other producers often use plain finish un-plated oily bolts and nuts which are packed loose in the kit box. This often results in the sharp edges of bolts and nuts nicking and gouging gaskets . It also causes oil to be transferred to gaskets which can foul the gaskets as well as the media they'll ultimately be used in.

Do you private label your kits?

Yes, we offer private labeling services. We can even include your company name and logo on the box.

What is the specification for the bolts included in the QUICKPAK® kits?

ASTM A307 Grade A zinc plated carbon steel; Minimum tensile strength 60,000psi.

What is the specification for the nuts included in the QUICKPAK® kits?

ASTM A563 zinc plated carbon steel finished hex nut.

What is a "Ring" Gasket?

A ring gasket is the sealing element for flanged connections usually raised faced ANSI flanges. Ring gaskets have an inside diameter slightly larger than the pipe I.D. and an outside diameter that is slightly smaller than the bolt circle with thickness suitable for the application. Material shall be compatible with the media being sealed.

What is a "Full Face" Gasket"?

A full face gasket is the sealing element for flanged connections usually flat faced ANSI flanges. Full face gaskets have an inside diameter slightly larger than the pipe I.D. and an outside diameter that extends to the outside of the flanges and includes bolt holes with thickness suitable for the application. Material shall be compatible with the media being sealed.

What are the most common types of gaskets?

There are two types of common gaskets:

  • Compressed Non-Asbestos: It is often produced from Kevlar or other aramid fiber (aramid fiber is a synthetic heat resistant fiber). It is commonly used in a variety of liquid & gas applications, as well as in steam applications.

  • Red Rubber: The actual material is SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber). It is mostly used in water service. Users are less particular about manufacturer brand and/or style number when red rubber is appropriate.
